Proctoring Services

All online courses at Richmond Community College that involve students taking online exams require that at least one of the exams be proctored. The online course instructor will tell their students exactly which exams are required to be proctored. RichmondCC students have several options available in having their online exams proctored:

  • On campus in the Academic Success Center (Hamlet (Conder Building) or Scotland County Campus (Morgan Center)
  • Online with ProctorU
  • In class with the instructor (if offered by the instructor)

On Campus in the Academic Success Center

Test-takers must present a valid photo I.D. when checking in with the ASC proctor for their test. Acceptable photo identification is a document with both a photo and a name, such as a driver’s license, state-issued identification card, passport, military, or school I.D.*

*A Richmond Community College student ID can be obtained from the reception center at either campus location for FREE.

ADA Test Form

Make-Up Test Form

Instructors administering make-up tests or exams through the Academic Success Center (ASC) need to complete the Make-Up Test and Examination Form and submit it when they drop off their test materials.

The form captures essential details, including instructor contact information, course name, student name(s), testing time limits, and the exam completion deadline. Instructors can also indicate whether they would like to be notified when testing is finished.

Additionally, instructors can specify permitted testing resources (such as notes, e-books, scratch paper, or calculators) and provide instructions for ASC proctors to follow during testing.

For students who require ADA accommodation, instructors should ensure proper documentation is submitted 24 hours in advance and coordinate with the ASC accordingly.

Once completed, instructors should bring the form with their exam materials and submit both to the Academic Success Center when arranging the make-up test. Students will be required to present a photo ID for all proctored exams.
