Nursing Assistant I

CNA instructor teaches students in classThis is a 166-172 contact hour course offered in a traditional classroom setting. This training program, which includes day or evening class options, will prepare you to successfully complete a state of North Carolina approved competency evaluation examination that allows the nurse aide to be listed on the N.C. Nurse Aide I Registry. The course includes instructor lectures, videos, role playing methods and hands-on learning. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to take the state exam through Credentia for listing and certification with the state of North Carolina. Pre-registration Required!


Spring 2025 Classes

Scotland County Campus: 

  • March 9 - May 15 | Hybrid class with face-to-face meetings Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:50 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Honeycutt Center, room 125 | On-site clinicals May 1-12 on Mondays through Thursdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. | Tuition for this class is $180; fees for this class are $260.
  • April 29 - Nov. 11 | Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6 to 9:10 p.m. | Honeycutt Center, room 125 | Tuition for this class is $180; fees for this class are $260.

Requirements for Registration

  • Accuplacer Next Generation Reading score of 250 or higher. A transcript showing successful completion of a college level English course is a substitute for the test score.
  • Valid U.S. government issued Social Security Card
  • Valid driver’s license or state issued picture ID
  • Current immunization record
  • Current completed physical
  • Current TB skin result
