About the Program
The Associate Degree Nursing curriculum provides knowledge, skills, and strategies to integrate safety and quality into nursing care, to practice in a dynamic environment, and to meet individual needs which impact health, quality of life, and achievement of potential.
Course work includes, and builds upon, the domains of healthcare, nursing practice, and the holistic individual. Content emphasizes the nurse as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing safe, individualize care while employing evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and informatics.
Graduates of this program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Employment opportunities are vast within the global health care system and may include positions within acute, chronic, extended, industrial, and community health care facilities.
ADN Admission Policy & Procedures
To enter the nursing program, a student must first be admitted to RichmondCC. (Apply for free now.) Admission to RichmondCC, however, does not guarantee admission into the nursing program. A letter from the Admissions Office will be sent to the student upon acceptance into the nursing program. A letter from the Registrar will be sent to the student regarding transfer equivalency.
There is a separate admissions application for the ADN program. If needed, potential nursing students are welcome to request assistance from Student Services to complete this application. ADN admissions applications must be submitted before the Summer Semester begins of the year they wish to enter into the ADN program. New applications are available in June annually. Students are encouraged to apply early, even if they do not meet all requirements. For the 2025 Fall Semester, applications closed on March 31, 2025. Students should complete a nursing application even if they have not yet met the requirements for the Nursing Admissions. You will need to be logged into your RichmondCC Office 365 Account to complete the Nursing Application.
