Privacy Policy

This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for Richmond Community College’s website. This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this website. It will notify you of the following:

  1. What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the website, how it is used and with whom it may be shared.
  2. What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.
  3. The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.
  4. How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

Information Collection, Use and Sharing

RichmondCC is the sole owners of the information collected on this site. RichmondCC only has access to/collect information that you voluntarily give RichmondCC via email or other direct contact from you. RichmondCC will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

RichmondCC will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. RichmondCC will not share your information with any third party outside of the college, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to mail tickets.

Unless you ask RichmondCC not to, RichmondCC may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from RichmondCC at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting the college via the email address or phone number given on RichmondCC’s website:

  • See what data the college has about you, if any.
  • Change/correct any data the college has about you.
  • Have the college delete any data we have about you.
  • Express any concern you have about the college’s use of your data.

Security
RichmondCC takes precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever RichmondCC collects sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to the college in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the Web page. All transactions are secured and managed by Authorize.net

While the college uses encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, the college also protects your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Surveys and Promotions

From time to time, we may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys, contests or offers (any of these a “Promotion”) via the college’s Site or Services. If you participate in a Promotion the college will request certain Personal Information from you. RichmondCC use the Personal Information you provide to the college in these instances to administer your participation in the Promotion. Participation in a Promotion is completely voluntary, and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information.

Log Data

When you use the Services, RichmondCC’s servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website or service connected to the Internet (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s, or other mobile device’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, the webpage you were visiting before you came to the college’s Site, pages of the college’s Site that you visit, the time spent on those pages, sections of the college’s applications that you access, information you search for on the college’s Site, access times and dates, and other statistics. RichmondCC uses this information to monitor and analyze use of the Site and Services for technical administration and tailoring the college’s Services to the college’s users’ needs.

Policy Toward Children

IF YOU ARE UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE, THEN PLEASE DO NOT USE OR ACCESS THE SERVICES AT ANY TIME OR IN ANY MANNER.

Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. For that reason, the college does not knowingly collect or maintain personally identifiable information from persons under 13 years-of-age. If the college learns that personally-identifiable information of persons less than 13-years-of-age has been collected on or through the Services, then RichmondCC will take the appropriate steps to delete this information.

If you are the parent or legal guardian of a child under 13 who uses the Services, then please contact the college at coleaud@richmondcc.edu to have that child’s information deleted.

Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement

We may disclose any information about you if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws (such as U.S. Copyright law) or respond to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena, or warrant in the manner required by the requesting entity.

Companies Using The College’s Services

RichmondCC may share your email address with the company or organization for whose event you are purchasing a ticketing using the college’s Services. In such case, you will be subject to that company’s or organization’s privacy policy with respect to their use of this information.

Richmond Community College also reserves the right to disclose information that the college believes, in good faith, is appropriate or necessary to take precautions against liability; protect the college from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses; to investigate and defend the college and its employees against third-party claims or allegations; to assist government enforcement agencies; to protect the security or integrity of the Services; or to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of users, or others.
