Medication Aide

Medication Aide Assisting Patients

This class is for N.C. Certified Nursing Assistants who want to become certified as N.C. Medication Aide. It will prepare CNAs for the N.C. Board of Nursing exam for Medication Aide. You must be a licensed CNA to take this class.

Class Dates

Oct. 15-31: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Robinette Building, room 331, Rockingham

Course Topics

  • Recognizing toxic side effects of medication
  • Recognizing allergic reactions
  • Recognizing immediate desired effects or unusual and unexpected effects
  • Monitoring changes in a client's condition that contraindicates continued administration of medication
  • Anticipating and recognizing potential effects that may rapidly change a client's well-being
