These courses provide skills training for a career in human services, with an emphasis on employment with the N.C. Department of Social Services (DSS). Students will learn how to use NCFAST, a software program used throughout the departments of Health and Human Services and departments of Social Services. RichmondCC will award 4 college credit hours in the Human Services Technology program to students who successfully complete NCFAST Phase 1 & 2.
Phase 1
Students will be introduced to NCFAST, a software program that is used throughout the departments of Health and Human Services and departments of Social Services.
Class Details & Cost: Feb. 4 - March 27 | Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. | Robinette Building, room 314, Rockingham | Tuition for this class is $125; fees for this class are $60.
Phase 2
The focus of this phase is to provide instruction and practice in processing Food and Nutrition and MAGI (Modified Adjusted Gross Income) applications. This phase improves the skills for both current and prospective Departments of Social Services employees
Class Details & Cost: Feb. 3 - March 26 | Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. | Morgan Center, room 207, Scotland County Campus | Tuition for this class is $125.
Your Course Tuition Could Be waived!
Tuition is waived for students who meet one of the following qualifications:
- Has received notice of pending layoff
- Is working and eligible for Federal Earned Income Tax Credit
- Is working and earning at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines
- Is unemployed
