Students taking the following Early Childhood Education Electives as part of their degree program will also earn a Special Education Diploma: EDU 154, EDU 223, EDU 247, and EDU 248.

Students enrolled in EDU 284, wishing to complete hours outside of Richmond county and Scotland county North Carolina must complete practicum hours at a location meeting one of the following criteria:NAEYC accredited; a Public School Pre-K-3rd grade; Head Start or Early Head Start; or NACCRA accredited. The student must be directly supervised by an individual holding an associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related program.

EDU 114 and EDU 119 have components of the course using the North Carolina Foundations for Early Learning and Development, which is a free resource.
