Public Invited to Explore Career Opportunities with Local Employers

April 9, 2018 – Richmond Community College is hosting a Career & Business Expo on Tuesday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cole Auditorium to help connect employers with potential employees. This event is free and open to the public.Logos of different businesses and agencies that will be attending the Career & Business Expo

More than 40 companies, businesses and agencies will be on hand to talk one-on-one with people about job openings and the skills needed to be successful in their workplace. They will also be taking applications and accepting resumes.

Three companies have also requested to conduct interviews that day. They are Global Packaging, Heffner Landscaping and FirstSynch.

“This event is open to everyone, so we hope the general public will take advantage of this opportunity to network with local employers and explore different careers available to them in this area,” said Patsy Stanley, director of the Career & Transfer Center at RichmondCC. “We encourage people to dress professionally and bring a resume. If you don’t have a resume, please come by the Career & Transfer Center prior to April 17, and we can help you build your professional resume.” 

People who need a professional headshot to go along with a resume can also have one taken at the Career & Business Expo.

Also coming to the Expo is the NCWorks Mobile Lab with career advisors who will be available to talk to people and offer career counseling.

“We want to help people any way we can to find that rewarding and lifelong career,” Stanley said.
