Clear Path
Find Your Path. Build Your Strength. Help Others Find Theirs.
Clear Path is a Richmond Community College student support and prevention program focused on mental wellness, resilience, healthy decision-making, addiction prevention, recovery, and student success.
College students face challenges that extend beyond the classroom. Stress, anxiety, motivation, relationships, substance use, family responsibilities, academic pressure, and unexpected setbacks can all affect a student's ability to move forward.
Clear Path provides practical education, interactive workshops, campus activities, and connections to resources that help students develop skills for navigating these challenges. The goal is simple: provide students with useful tools, honest conversations, and pathways to support without judgment or shame.
What Does Clear Path Offer?
Clear Path programming addresses common issues that can affect students academically, personally, socially, and professionally.
Workshops and activities may include topics such as:
- Managing stress and anxiety
- Overcoming procrastination and building motivation
- Resilience after setbacks
- Healthy relationships and communication
- Bystander decision-making and helping a friend
- Mental health awareness
- Recognizing when and how to seek help
- Substance-use prevention
- Healthy alternatives to addictive behaviors
- Recovery and treatment resources
- Building healthy routines and physical wellness
- Time management and academic success
- Career readiness and professional development
- Responsible decision-making
- Building support systems on and off campus
Clear Path sessions are designed to be practical and engaging. Depending on the topic, students may participate in real-world scenarios, guided discussions, creative projects, problem-solving activities, guest presentations, reflection exercises, and other experiences that help turn information into usable skills.
Clear Path Across Campus
Clear Path is more than a series of workshops.
Throughout the year, Clear Path may offer campus pop-up activities, awareness events, educational campaigns, resource tables, creative activities, and other opportunities that promote mental health, resilience, healthy choices, recovery, and connection.
Some activities may take only a few minutes. Others may involve a full workshop or group discussion. The goal is to make useful information and positive experiences available to students in different ways and in places where students already spend their time.
Get Involved
Clear Path also provides an opportunity for members of the RichmondCC community to help create a healthier campus. Students, faculty, and staff who are interested in mental health, resilience, recovery, substance-use prevention, or student well-being are invited to contribute.
Clear Path contributors may:
- Suggest future workshop topics
- Help develop campus activities and events
- Participate in student-lounge pop-ups
- Assist with mental health and wellness awareness efforts
- Promote healthy alternatives to substance use
- Share ideas for improving student engagement
- Help connect students with useful campus and community resources
You do not have to join a traditional club or hold an office to participate. Some people may attend one activity. Others may choose to become regular contributors to Clear Path programming.
Looking for Support?
Clear Path can also help students learn about available resources for mental health, substance-use concerns, recovery, and other challenges. Students who are concerned about themselves or someone they care about can contact a counselor to discuss available campus and community resources and identify appropriate next steps.
