Access to Achievement
North Carolina's pathway to education and economic mobility for people with IDD
Access to Achievement connects students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to resources that will help them succeed in school and beyond. Each student's journey is unique, and so is the support they will receive to achieve their goals.
Inclusive
All students with intellectual and developmental disabilities are welcome into the program. No documentation is required to participate.
Supportive
We connect students with the resources they need, from academic help to a variety of supports, including tutoring, transportation and career planning.
Career-Driven
Students gain workforce skills that will allow them to participate fully in their communities and work toward achieving independence.
Person-Centered
Each student's Access to Achievement plan is designed around his or her strengths and goals.
Next Steps
Some students may be referred to the Next Steps program, which provides individualized instruction and counseling for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
