NCCER Plumbing Level 1
Class Details & Cost
Sept. 2, 2025 - May 30, 2026 | Tuesdays from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. plus one Saturday a month from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Honeycutt Center, room 137, Scotland County Campus | Tuition for this class is $180; fees are $220.
This course will provide an introduction to plumbing practices. Students will learn identification and use of the tools of the trade. Upon successful completion, students will be able to utilize basic skills needed to identify a plumbing problem and identify a solution. Students will demonstrate safety practices and identify the components and functions of a water distribution system.
Course Topics
- Overview of fixtures and faucets
- Working with different pipe types (plastic, steel, copper, and cast iron)
- Identification and application of drain/waste/vent fittings
- Isometric drawings
NCCER Plumbing Level 2
Building on Level 1, the Level 2 course includes instruction on reading commercial drawings, installing plumbing appliances and more.

Plumbing Level 3
Level 3 builds on skills from the first two levels, focusing on applied math, the water supply system, venting, pumps, service plumbing and more. This class is the third installment of NCCER's four-part plumbing program. The series trains future plumbers in installing, repairing and maintaining pipe systems.
Class Details & Cost: Sept. 4 - March 19, 2026 | Thursdays from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Scotland High School | Tuition for this class is $180; fees are $170.

- Hydronic and solar heating systems
- Codes
- Private water supply well systems
- Private waste-disposal systems
- Swimming pools and hot tubs
- Plumbing for mobile homes and travel trailer parks
- Introduction to medical gas and vacuum systems
