After more than 14 years of successful leadership as Richmond Community College’s seventh president, Dr. Dale McInnis is retiring on Oct. 31, 2024. The RichmondCC Board of Trustees is conducting a national search for a visionary and student-centered president to lead the College and its employees to fulfill its mission and be the premiere community college in North Carolina.

  • Service Area & Facilities: Richmond CC is a public, two-year college serving Richmond and Scotland counties as a constituent member of the 58 colleges within the North Carolina Community College System. Founded in 1964 as a technical institute, it now serves as a comprehensive community college. The beautiful main campus, located in Hamlet, N.C., consists of seven buildings, including a 960-seat performing arts center, on an attractive 160 acres. The College also has a three-building campus in Laurinburg and the Kenneth and Claudia Robinette Building located in Rockingham.
  • Accreditation: The College’s accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges was reaffirmed in June 2024. It awards associate degrees in arts, science, and applied sciences in 21 different programs, and workforce certificates in a wide variety of high demand fields.
  • Size: With a population base of 77,000, the College served around 8,500 individuals in 2023-2024, generating about 3,000 FTE. RichmondCC employs 216 full-time and approximately 132 part-time faculty and staff.
  • Budget: The College’s operational budget for 2023-2024 is approximately $33 million.
