The Paramedic certification course provides you with the knowledge, skills and attributes to provide advanced emergency medical care for critical and emergent patients, and prepares you to enter the workforce as a certified paramedic. This program meets the NCOEMS and National EMS Education Standards and AHA guidelines.
Class Details & Cost
Paramedic Part 1: Jan. 13 - Dec. 12 | Lee Building, room 14, Hamlet Campus | Tuition for this class is $180; fees for this class are $990.

Course Requirements
NC Office of EMS requires all applicants to have:
- HS Diploma or Equivalent (Must be at least 17 on or before the official end date of the class)
- ENG 111 with a C or better OR Accuplacer Next Generation Reading with a score of 250 or higher
- Accuplacer Next Generation Quantitive Reasoning score of 250 or higher
- MAT 110 with C or better or Accuplacer Math with a score of 250 or higher
- BIO 163 with a B or better or BIO 168 & 166 or BIO 168 & 169 (SEE INFORMATION BELOW ON BIO 163)
- Valid state issued photo ID or Driver's License
- Copy of EMT card
- Must provide a copy of your immunization record (records need to be up to date)
