Intro to Construction - Earn Your Certification
The course provides instruction related to the core skills used by carpenters in residential and commercial settings. This will be a hybrid course that will provide an overview of the construction industry and lead to a NCCER Core Certification.
Class Date: Mar. 6
Class will meet on the Hamlet Campus from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays.
Course Topics
Safety, hand/power tool use, site preparation, measurement and layout, footings and foundations and construction framing. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures made of wood such as concrete forms and building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding and rafters, wood stairways, window and door frames and hardwood floors.
