Mar 21

March 21, 2023 - The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will be returning to the Cole Auditorium on April 13 at 7 p.m. for a spring concert that will be filled with the sounds of “Fantasy, Fairytales and the Force.”Charlotte Symphony show graphic

This family-friendly concert will include some very familiar tunes, such as the Waltz from The Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and The Beast Overture, Star Wars: Princess Leia’s Theme, music from Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and music from Frozen.

Tickets will only be $5 thanks to grant funding from The Cole Foundation and Foundation of the Carolinas.

“This grant funding makes these show tickets very affordable for families, church and school groups,” said Director of the Cole Auditorium Joey Bennett. “Tickets for similar events with the Symphony are $20 to $50.”

Thanks to the grant funding, free tickets to the performance will also be provided to middle and high school choral and band students.

“We are excited about this one-hour performance by the Symphony because they have geared it to a younger audience by lining up music that will be familiar to them, versus traditional classical music,” Bennett said.

One of the premier music organizations in the Southeastern United States and the oldest operating symphony orchestra in the Carolinas, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra connects with more than 100,000 music lovers each year through its lively season of concerts, broadcasts, community events, and robust educational programs.

Its 62 professional, full-time time musicians perform throughout the region – from community parks and breweries, to places of worship and senior care centers – and offer significant educational support, aimed at serving the under-resourced areas of our community.

To purchase tickets to the Charlotte Symphony performance at the Cole, stop by the Box Office during normal business hours, Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
