Essential Life Skills Class Series

Life Skills spelled out on chipsHave you ever thought, “I should know how to do that”? The goal of this series of classes is to teach those essential life skills you did not learn in school or your parents did not teach you. This series targets young adults, but the classes are open to anyone! This series will cover a variety of topics such as automotive, cooking, budgeting, sewing, cleaning and other normal life skills.

Essential Life Skills: Automotive

In this Essential Life Skills Automotive class, you will gain an understanding of the dashboard symbols of your car, be able to check your tire pressure, change a tire, check fluids and oil, and jump-start a dead battery. This is a fun, judgment-free class to learn more about your vehicle and easy problems YOU can solve.

Essential Life Skills: Kitchen 

In this Essential Life Skills Kitchen class, you will be learning your way around the kitchen and learning acceptable subitutions in recipes, plus tips for grocery shopping (with an emphasis on determining price per ounce/pound).

Essential Life Skills: Gardening 

In this Essential Life Skills Gardening class, you will learn how to garden using outdoor raised beds or container gardens, as well as how to identify and combat plant diseases and set a watering schedule.

This course serves as an introduction to the fundamental principles and practices of landscaping. Students will explore the essential elements of creating and maintaining attractive and functional outdoor spaces.
