RichmondCC to Provide 24/7 Access to Tutoring through Online Resource
Richmond Community College is partnering with Upswing, an online tutoring platform that gives students free access to online tutors at any time.
The new partnership provides RichmondCC students an easy way to schedule a tutoring session with a coach anytime, anywhere. Through Upswing’s online platform, students are able to connect with Upswing's network of coaches, who provide academic support at times when the College's tutors may be unavailable, such as at night or during weekends. Students will be able to get help with classes at times that best suit their schedule, and there is not cost to students to use the online resource.
Through its platform, Upswing is able to aggregate data from tutoring sessions to provide insight to RichmondCC administrators on a student’s performance and understanding of material.
“Just like Richmond Community College’s mission to provide students with vast learning opportunities, Upswing is dedicated to increasing student understanding of classroom material,” Dean of Learning Resources Carolyn Bittle said. “Academic Success Center coordinators SheVonne Lockhart and Catina Jones have been instrumental and making this free tutoring service available to our students.”
