ESL

It’s important to us that each member of our community has the knowledge and tools he or she needs to succeed in everyday life. With this in mind, we offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at both the Hamlet and Scotland County campuses for non-English speaking adults. The classes are open to students who are 18 years or older.

The goal of the ESL program is to provide English language acquisition classes for non-English speakers to improve their reading, writing, speaking, listening and employability skills and to offer preparations for the naturalization exam to become American citizens. All new students must attend an ESL orientation prior to beginning classes. Contact ESL Instructor and Intake Specialist Dagoberto Lopez for the orientation schedule.
