Family Health Concepts (NUR-113)

This course is designed to further develop the concepts within the three domains of the individual, healthcare, and nursing. Emphasis is placed on the concepts of oxygenation, sexuality, reproduction, grief/loss, mood/affect, behaviors, development, family, health-wellness-illness, communication, caring interventions, managing care, safety, and advocacy. Upon completion, students should be able to provide safe nursing care incorporating the concepts identified in this course.

Student must have credit for the following courses:
Take one set: Basic Anatomy and Physiology (BIO-163) or Anatomy and Physiology I (BIO-165) and Anatomy and Physiology II (BIO-166).
Take all: Microbiology (BIO-275), Writing and Inquiry (ENG-111), Writing and Research in the Disciplines (ENG-112), Critical Thinking (HUM-115), Quantitative Literacy (MAT-143), Introduction to Health Concepts (NUR-111), Health-Illness Concepts (NUR-112), Holistic Health Concepts (NUR-114), General Psychology (PSY-150), Developmental Psychology (PSY-241)
