Associate Degree Nursing LPN to ADN Transition Pathway
The LPN to ADN track offers licensed practical nurses a pathway to advance their education and join the traditional associate degree program after completing the initial transition course.
The Associate Degree Nursing program aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary for safe, quality, and individualized nursing care in a dynamic healthcare environment. It emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based practice, and holistic patient care. Graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam and pursue diverse employment opportunities in various healthcare settings. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
These credentials/certifications provide 18 credit hours of advanced placement for students who are accepted into the program. Students will receive articulated credit for NUR 111, NUR 112, and NUR 114. To receive this articulation credit, the student must receive the recommendation of the Program Coordinator.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- • The following elective courses must be completed prior to acceptance into LPN to ADN transition pathway. These include BIO 165 and BIO 166, ENG 111, and PSY 150. BIO 165 and BIO 166 must have a grade of “B” or higher and were completed in the last 5 years.
- • Must have completed at least high school diploma or GED.
- • Current BLS CPR card.
- • Current LPN License (must be maintained throughout the program) Obtained within the last 5 years.
- • LPN verification attestation form. Minimum of 1 year of experience as an LPN.
- • Completed health form and current required immunizations.
- • Score of 250 on the Math and Reading Accuplacer Exam, two attempts only within a year.
- • Please note that BIO 275, ENG 112, HUM 115, MAT 143, PSY 241, and SOC 210 must be successfully completed to enter NUR 113 in the Summer Semester.
