Fiddle in the Band - The Premiere Tribute to Alabama

Fiddle in the Band is a premier, nationally touring tribute act dedicated to the iconic country and southern rock group Alabama. The band faithfully recreates Alabama's signature harmonies and stellar musicianship. With Alabama's over 40 No. 1 hits to choose from, fans of the iconic country band will get a chance to relive favorites like "Mountain Music," "Roll On," “Feels So Right,” “Love in the First Degree,” “High Cotton,” and of course, "If You're Gonna Play in Texas."

About the Frontman

‘Fiddle in the Band,’ is led by veteran musician Scott Deering. Deering, originally from Pensacola, Fla., said he grew up listening to Alabama. 

“I first saw them in Mobile in 1979 and was so impressed,” he said. 

Like the members of Alabama, Deering said he also got his start singing in church.  Deering also worked in Nashville for the Grand Ole Opry in the 1980s and 1990s. He has been performing for decades, including fronting another group that often performs Alabama songs in their repertoire. 

When asked what makes Alabama special, Deering listed several reasons. 

“I really love their harmonies,” he said. “Three of the members are first cousins and there is just something about how families’ voices blend better.” 

Deering also praised the longevity of the iconic musical group. 

“They’ve been in the music business for more than 50 years, which is incredible in itself,” Deering said. “They’ve got more than 40 number one hits, every song we perform in the show has made it to number one on the charts.”

Deering said he also loves the group because they are the perfect example of Americana music.

The tribute band front man said his favorite song of the groups to perform is “My Home’s in Alabama.”

“Even though I’m not from Alabama, it still feels like home to me,” Deering said. “Pensacola is really just Alabama with a pretty beach.”
