This course will introduce students to the basic functions of transformers.  

• Students will learn basic transformer concepts to include basic formulas for transformer ratings, loads, and losses.
• Terminal designations with additive and subtractive polarity leading to Wye and Delta configurations will be explained in detail.
• Transformer connections using diagrams for Single and Three Phase Banking and paralleling will be demonstrated.

Safety aspects will be highly emphasized.

At completion of the course, student should be able to understand the
configuration of Single and Three Phase transformer operations and apply load calculations in actual applications.
