July 15, 2020 – While the Coronavirus may have caused some changes for fall semester, one thing remains the same at Richmond Community College: its innovation for new programs and improving its facilities to better serve students.Front of Lee Building with new staircase

New this fall at RichmondCC is the Emergency Medical Science associate degree and two transfer pathways for people interested in going into elementary education. Also starting in August is the new Industrial Mechanics program that is offered at RichmondCC's growing Scotland County Campus.

RichmondCC will also be opening its new addition to the Lee Building that will place Student Services and the Career & Transfer Center front and center as people come on to the Hamlet Campus.

"We are excited to open up the new addition that really showcases the services we provide students, from enrolling them in classes, helping them with financial aid to career counseling and job placement. Our staff is ready to provide these services to students in person, virtually, and over the telephone," said Dr. Dale McInnis, RichmondCC president.

While many colleges and universities have made changes to housing, meal plans and face-to-face classes this fall semester, RichmondCC will continue to offer classes in both traditional and online formats.

"For those students who may be rethinking their university plans for the fall, we want them to know they can come here, and our counselors can help them map out a transfer plan so they can stay on track to getting the college degree and the college experience they hoped for," McInnis said.

RichmondCC's general education classes transfer to every major university in North Carolina, and it offers several co-admission programs that can guarantee enrollment in partnering universities after completing the two-year degree at RichmondCC. These co-admission programs include:
