Human Services Graduates Can Advance Their Degree at Lees-McCrae College

December 10, 2018 – Richmond Community College recently collaborated with Lees-McRae College to map out at transfer pathway for RichmondCC graduates of the Human Services Technology program to earn a bachelor’s degree online.Lees Mcrae College logo

The two colleges signed an articulation agreement that will allow RichmondCC students who have completed the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Human Services Technology to transfer with 65 to 66 credits into the Bachelor of Arts and Applied Science (B.A.A.S.) Degree in Human Services at Lees-McRae. These credits will fulfill the general education core curriculum in the bachelor degree program.

“RichmondCC students will transfer in as juniors, which saves them time and money as they pursue an advanced degree at Lees-McRae College,” RichmondCC’s Director of Career & Transfer Services Patsy Stanley said. “Because of this partnership with Lees-McRae, we will be able to help more students earn the credentials and education they need to pursue a career in the human services profession.”

Human services-related job growth is expected to be more than 13 percent through 2024, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Jobs in the human services field can be found in mental health, child care, family services, social services, rehabilitation, correction and educational agencies.
