Prepare for 2017 Tax Season with Free Webinar for Small Businesses

Oct. 27, 2016 - If you own a small business and tax season is scarier than Halloween, the Small Business Center at Richmond Community College is here to help you! For the first time ever, the Small Business Center is offering a free webinar, “2017 Tax Season, Are you Ready?”

Tax specialists from N.C. Department of Revenue and Internal Revenue Service will be providing valuable information about the 2017 filing season through a free webinar from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Cole Auditorium.

As a webinar, you can participate in this online seminar from your home or work using a personal computer with Internet access. If you do not have a computer or Internet access, you can view this webinar in a group session at the Cole Auditorium on the main campus of the College in Hamlet.

“We encourage people to take advantage of this unique opportunity for a free online webinar, whether you view it from home or at the space we’re providing at the Cole Auditorium,” Small Business Center Director Deborah Hardison said. “This a great way for us to share our resources with the community. This webinar is a one-stop shop for new and existing small businesses.”

Topics of the webinar will include:

• Federal and State small business tax information
• Jump Start Program with the NC Employment Tax Form 941 updates
• W-4 requirements • Ways to protect yourself from identity theft
• State tax return changes

There are two ways to attend this seminar:
• In person, preregister online; come to the Cole Auditorium to view webinar at time of event.
• Online, to view from home or work, once you registered, you will receive a follow-up email with instructions on how to access online.
