Photographer to Teach Creative Ways to Share Holiday Photos

Oct 8

Hamlet, N.C. (Oct. 8, 2015) – October kicks off the holiday season, and wouldn’t you like to be able to take memorable family photos and use them in creative ways? Richmond Community College is offering a holiday photography class that will be held Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning Nov. 10 through Dec. 8 at the Honeycutt Center in Laurinburg.

“Students will learn some basics about taking photos, such as angles, background and lighting, but I will really focus on creative ways to use photos for holiday cards, invites, ornaments and gifts,” class instructor and Laurinburg photographer Alicia Krout said. “We all have these photos on our phones and memory cards, but what do you do with them? That’s what I will be showing people.” Krout has been a professional photographer since 2008. She learned to do portrait work while working for national portrait photography chain Olan Mills. While this class will focus on interesting ways to capture holiday photos and share them, Krout will also be offering a fundamental photography class in the spring at RCC.

Offered through RCC’s Workforce and Economic Development division, the class costs $70. A camera is not required to take the class. To sign up, call (910) 410-1706 or email ambutler979@richmondcc.edu.
